Activated Carbon Fibre Bin Pads - Material Datasheet
Activated carbon is the most adsorbtive substance known and has been proven to be the most effective substance for filtering odours. Our activated carbon fibre is made of more than 95% carbon based elements, its structure is composed of flakes of graphite micro-crystal built up at random.
The specific surface area of carbon is (1150-1250 square metres per gram) made up of a huge number of pores (80% of them being micro-pore) with a uniform pore size distribution in the range 2 to 20nm.
For this application the activated carbon is produced in a felt form with a self- adhesive backing for ease of mounting to the lid of the bin.
Exposing to sunlight for two to three hours may reactivate SmellsAway activated carbon fibre bin pads up to three times.
